#KPI Headlines:
- Wichita State sneaks into the top-4: Wichita State improved to 24-0 with a win at Indiana State Wednesday (their second best win of the year behind at Saint Louis) and moved into the top-4 #KPI for the first time. Their remaining SOS is 198 (-.026), the lowest of any team in the top-32 #KPI. No. 74 Indiana State is the only other Missouri Valley Conference member in the top-100 #KPI.
- Top-10 Conferences Dominate the At-Large Bids: The Top-10 #KPI conferences (Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12, Big East, ACC, A-10, SEC, American, WCC and Mountain West) account for 45 of the top-50 #KPI. The exceptions? No. 4 Wichita State (MVC), No. 33 Toledo (MAC), No. 35 Southern Miss (C-USA), No. 40 Harvard (Ivy) and No. 49 North Dakota State (Summit). No. 54 Belmont (OVC) and No. 59 Green Bay (Horizon), who have wins over North Carolina and Virginia respectively, are also lurking.
- South & Midwest Geography: Memphis and Indianapolis (which host the South and Midwest Regions respectively) are just 465 miles apart. The different interpretations between proximity and geographic fit will be important in bracketing for teams in the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, ACC and Missouri Valley.
- 11-16 Logjam: The difference between No. 11 Massachusetts and No. 16 Cincinnati is .003, basically nothing.
- Cleveland State and Oakland combined for 29 made 3’s on Thursday. Charleston Southern and Western Carolina (12/18) and Creighton and Villanova (1/20) both combined for 31 made 3’s in their respective games, the highest of any game this season.
- Texas out-rebounded TCU by 31 on Tuesday was the largest margin in any conference game this season.
