#KPI Headlines:
- #KPI Excel resumes ranked by #KPI value per game (through March 12), #KPI by Team (through March 12) and #KPI by Conference (through March 12). Notes on Rule Changes are also available. Note the discrepancy between #KPI and NCAA data is how games against Non D-I schools are counted (3.9% of the data).
- Including Green Bay and Belmont, there are nine teams who have automatic bids to the NIT should they not qualify for an at-large NCAA bid. From 2007-10, an average of 7.3 NIT bids were earned this way. Since 2011, an average of 11.7 NIT bids came from AQs. As a result, the cut line for NIT bids is currently #KPI No. 80.
- Scoring in Week 19 (March 10-16) is at a season-low of 66.5 PPG. The previous weekly low was 68.9 PPG (January 13-19). Conference tournament scoring also trended down in 2012-13 (65.3 PPG compared to 67.5 PPG during the full season).
#KPI offensive, defensive and overall production numbers are part of the “By Team” #KPI file. Offensive and defensive production is calculated as the difference between a team’s offensive/defensive points per possession when compared to what each of their opponent allows. Total production is the sum of offense (50%) and defense (50%):
